UKIVA announces new members and exhibits at VISION 2008
The UK Industrial Vision Association (UKIVA) reports that its membership continues to grow. The association also exhibited at this year's VISION Show.
Rhombus VS Ltd and the VTX - Vision Technology Exhibition and Conference are the latest organisations to become UKIVA members. Original equipment manufacturer (OEM) Rhombus specialises in the manufacture of complete custom systems for vision, non-contact metrology and automation applications, while VTX is a leading UK and Irish annual exhibition for the vision industry. VTX is organised by OcotoMedia Ltd, part of the Canon Communications group.
UKIVA Director, Don Braggins, said: "We are always delighted to welcome new members, and it is interesting to see that as well as our more 'traditional' members, we are attracting more organisations which, like the association, are also involved in promoting the use of vision."
For the second year running, the UKIVA had a stand at the VISION Show, which was held in Stuttgart, Germany on November 4-6, 2008.
"VISION is the premier European exhibition for the machine vision industry, and we think it is extremely important for the association to have a presence there. Having a stand fulfils a number of purposes. Firstly it gives UKIVA members, who are perhaps visiting but not exhibiting themselves or with a European partner, a point of contact. Secondly, it provides a location that members can use for business meetings during the show," commented Braggins,
"Of course, we should not underestimate the importance of the stand to the association itself. Vision provides a perfect opportunity to attract more international members to UKIVA."
"Our international membership category is designed for suppliers of relevant products who do not have a permanent presence in the UK or Ireland but supply either dedicated application-specific vision-based products, or supply to an original equipment manufacturer customer-base, obviating the need for local support."
