MaxxVision launches USB 2.0 mini-cameras in monochrome and colour versions
MaxxVision GmbH of Stuttgart, Germany, has launched the Minicam USB 2.0 series of industrial cameras.
The highly reliable systems in this series support resolutions ranging from VGA (659 by 494) to XSGA (1360 by 1040), and are available in both monochrome and colour versions. With a cube format design each mini-cam measures 29 mm by 29 mm x 29 mm, which is one of the smallest industrial USB cameras in the world, claims the company.
Since there is no need for a frame grabber the cameras are suitable for use in applications in industrial environments where cost is a major consideration. They have a C-mount lens and locking connector, and images are digitised on-board the camera before being transmitted progressively to a personal computer via the USB 2.0 interface.
The cameras support 1/100 000 per second of shutter speed and a frame rate of 15-250 fps. Because they also have various trigger functions, such as fixed shutter trigger and multi-trigger, and support plug-and-play functionality, they enable engineers to optimise the design of their systems.
