7th EMVA Conference (May 15th & 16th, 2009) in Dublin increases level of internationality

General Assembly of EMVA in Dublin

On the 16th of May, 2009, the new EMVA Executive Committee was elected. For the next three years the Executive Committee will be composed of
  • Mats Gökstorp, SICK, Sweden/Germany
  • Gabriele Jansen, Jansen C.E.O., Germany
  • Cor Maas, LMI Technologies, The Netherlands
  • Ignazio Piacentini, ImagingLab, Italy
  • Toni Ventura-Traveset, Datapixel, Spain
The EMVA President will be elected by the Executive Committee and will be announced in due course.

Special thanks to Don Braggins (UKIVA) for having contributed to the success of EMVA from the very beginning. Don was instrumental in the preparatory activities that led to the foundation of EMVA in May 2003 and served on its Executive Committee for six years.

Presentation of EMVA projects at the General Assembly

EMVA is active in the development of standards for the machine vision industry. The current situation and the further development of the EMVA 1288 and GenICam Standards were presented and discussed.

Andreas Breyer, EMVA Director of Market Research, gave an update of the current economic situation. The complete results of the European Vision Technology Market Study will be available in summer 2009 and can be purchased. Detailed information will follow.
